BORACAY ISLAND, PHILIPPINES, 15 September 2015 – The First Annual World Spa Awards (WSA) 2015 announced Mandala Spa & Resort Villa’s triumphant victory as the PHILIPPINES’ BEST WELLNESS SPA at the inaugural World Spa Awards ceremony, held at the InterContinental® Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on Monday, September 14th, before industry leaders from around the world.

World Spa Awards is a sister event of World Travel Awards (WTA), heralded by the Wall Street Journal as the “Oscars” for travel and spa tourism.

Beginning with a cocktail reception, the gala dinner and the much anticipated unveiling of the World Spa Awards was a monumental evening for the spa industry worldwide. Mandala Spa & Resort Villas’ Resort Operations Manager Liza Gamo accepted the award before the world’s top industry luminaries, including World Spa Awards Managing Director Gina Reynolds, World Travel Group President Graham Cooke, and with global media coverage by the International New York Times, Travel & Leisure, Breaking Travel News, TV5Monde, and WTA’s Best In Travel Magazine.

Mandala Spa & Resort Villas bested Nurture Wellness Village and The Farm at San Benito for the “Philippines’ Best Wellness Spa” category, while The Peninsula Manila Spa at The Peninsula Manila took home the “Philippines’ Best Hotel Spa 2015” award. Mandala Spa & Resort Villas was the only property representing the Philippines at the red carpet gala event. An after party at the M Nightclub & Lounge capped the glittering event.
